I first tried the shampoo and conditioning bars at my sister-in-law’s house and enjoyed them so much I went home and bought sets for myself, my kids, and a travel set. I love the way it makes my hair feel and look. I have long, thick hair and was every 3-5 days, and sometimes it takes a lot of shampoo to get everything clean. I feel like I don’t have to use very much of this, so reordering less often will be extremely convenient.

these bars have given me back my curls! We have hard water, and even with using ultra expensive "curl shampoo and conditioner" in bottles, I still had limp waves. Your bars work so well, I might not need a water softener. I also sent them to my curly-haired son, who loves them! Will definitely re-order!

I’ve used a shampoo bar in the past and it was incredibly stripping. The Ethique bar is excellent! It suds easily and not stripping at all. The conditioner bar has great slip. My only concern is that us curly girls use A LOT of conditioner and the bar is small. I’ll have to see if it will last long.

I preferred the squares. Plus it seems like the shampoo is now twice and large as the conditioner.

Previously, both our curl shampoo and conditioner were square and the same size, which made them tricky to tell apart in the shower. We’ve now aligned the Curl-Defining Conditioner with the rest of our conditioner range, so it’s a different shape and 60g, rather than 110g like the shampoo.
That size shift reflects a change in how we position the bar; it's no longer intended as a co-wash, but as a dedicated conditioner focused on nourishing and hydrating curls and coils.

This is still my 1st Conditioner Bar, and this is my 2nd Shampoo Bar (I had already been using for a while before doing this review). My long hair reaches the middle of my back. Ethique's Conditioner Bars last a while, they are that concentrated. As I get older my greying curly & wavy hair becomes more unruly, harder to manage, with more tangles too. I'm 53. This duo keeps my hair hydrated, curls & waves look more pronounced, they Shine! and are SO SOFT! The conditioner easily gets rid of any tangles, and I can go 3-4 days before needing a wash. The Lemongrass scent is very uplifting.
We love that everything comes in compostable packaging. It gets ripped or cut up into smaller pieces and we add it to the big dirt bin we use for the flowers and garden.
