Nourishing Hand And Body Lotion Concentrate

I was trying out different zero waste lotions and all of them seemed to watery for me, even in the hot weather. This is truly creamy and moisturizing! The prep was simple - just need a bowl, water and funnel. I did end up using a hand mixer. My one smidge of a complaint is that the feel of my skin afterwards, even though it’s very hydrated, feels waxy. I have that problem with a lot of the Ethique cream products, like the lip balm - just very wax heavy. Still not a deterrent though! Please make more scents! A vanilla would be awesome!

I wasn't sure how this was going to work, especially once I broke the bar up and looked at the chunks floating in the bowl of hot water. This is going to turn into lotion?? But with a moderate amount of whisking, it absolutely did turn into lotion, with a lovely vanilla color and creamy texture. I didn't feel that I needed to break out the immersion blender.

It's wonderful rich body lotion that will last me a long time, since a little goes a long way. I love that I can use a repurposed jar instead of yet another plastic one. My only issue is that the scent is a bit strong for me. I am sensitive to scents, but usually lavender is okay for me. This product smells a bit too strong for my taste. I'll still use it - the scent doesn't linger that much with the small amount that I use. Next time I will order the unscented.

This is great stuff and easy to make. You won't want to waste a drop. It smells lovely. Not too strong and the scent dissipates over time after applied. After I mixed it up, it was a bit thick, like pudding. I added some more hot water to thin it and tried to get it into my travel bottles. It was still pretty thick. I'm looking for suggestions on how to get this lotion into a bottle with a 1/2 inch opening (1.27 cm). I tried a funnel, but not really effective. I kinda made a mess until I relied on scooping it all into a plastic zip bag, cutting a small opening in the corner and squeezing it out through the hole into the bottles. Not really keeping with my restricting plastic, but at least this was the 4th time the zip bag had been used.

Really interested in other ideas on getting the lotion into bottles because I like this lotion.
