Gentle Bodywash Concentrate

I make one half in a small Tupperware shake container. It's old and I don't use it fir it's purpose anymore - so this is perfect!

The unscented one truly us the best. I went back and bought 4 more.

I made a portion of this at full strength and a portion at half strength, to experiment. The half-strength version was a little too runny to use in place of a bar of soap, but worked very well to moisten my soap bar before cleaning sensitive areas (if you're someone with Sjogren's or a similar dryness disorder, you understand that some of can't use "normal" products without them ripping at sensitive skin, so we have to moisten everything first, and water simply isn't slick enough). The full-strength version made a luxurious, creamy liquid soap that I was able to use stand-alone. I didn't have any skin reactions, something which I'm extremely prone to, and the scent didn't bother me at all. All of those may seem like basic, normal things, but they're really not. More than 90% of the products I dare to try fail at least one of those criteria, so this was a definite winner in my book. I bought it originally because it's plastic-free (and it truly is - every bit of the product, the packaging, and the shipping materials), but I'll continue using it because it's an excellent body wash

I'm of two minds about this product. I'd describe it as a cleansing lotion. It was relatively easy to mix at home, didn't require an immersion blender or anything more than a fork and some hot water. It's also very gentle and non-drying which gives it some advantages over your average bar of soap. My one major issue is that it doesn't lather AT ALL. I realize this is part of what helps make it so gentle, and that lather does not actually make you any cleaner. What lather DOES do is help make the product go further because it's easier to move the product around on your body. I'm finding I have to use 3-4x the amount of product I normally would with this because it just doesn't have enough slip and lather to help it go farther. For my body, a regular ol' bar of gentle soap will easily last me a LOT longer, and is also available locally with zero packaging, so I will probably switch back to that. However, if Ethique modifies the formula to produce some lather, I would try the new formula for sure, because I like the concept and it was nice to my skin. It reminded me a lot of a LaRoche Posay Toleraine Caring Wash, which is a great non-lathering face wash; the non-lathering is less of a dealbreaker if you primarily use it as a face wash, and tbh, I think Ethique could rebrand it and sell it as a face wash and have a great product.

Mixed up pretty easily. I used only half of the box so I could fill travel size containers so I used only one bar from the box. It doesn’t lather a ton, which I know doesn’t mean it isn’t effective, so it works fine for me but others might prefer more lathering action. Happy with the product.
