Sulfate-free means our shampoos skip a group of degreasing surfactants called sulfates. This includes common ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate. Instead, we use gentler cleansers such as sodium cocoyl isethionate. We offer both sulfate-free and sulfate options because different hair has different needs. It's all about finding your perfect hair care match.
Are sulfates bad for hair? It depends on your hair type. Some love the deep clean of sulfates, while others prefer gentler options. That's why we offer both!
Whether you choose our sulfate-free or sulfate-containing solid shampoo, you'll get a great lather. Our sulfate-free options use ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfoacetate for that bubbly goodness. Pair with our conditioner bars for silky smooth results. We've got options for every hair type - because one size doesn't fit all in hair care!
As a general rule, sulfate-free shampoos will not have ingredients that end with the word "sulfate" as one of their first-listed ingredients. If you want a sulfate-free shampoo, look for ones that list surfactants such as sodium cocoyl isethonate, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, cocoyl methyl glucamide sodium cocoyl glycinate, or decyl glucoside as the first few ingredients. It's also worth noting that not all ingredients which end with "sulfate" are cleansers. Behentrimonium methosulfate, for example has conditioning properties and is the primary ingredient in most conditioners.
Some people are sensitive to sulfates, or have personal preferences to avoid sulfates where possible. And that's okay! We have created a range of sulfate-free shampoos that are just as bubbly and work just as beautifully on hair.
